*Awoke from deep slumber*
*Yawn*
...great to be back.
Heya! It's been quite some time since my last upload on dA, hasn't it? Nope, I wasn't being lazy or any of that sort (maaybee). I was busy spending the last 2 months focusing my time on my final semester, so I didn't really have the chance to start a new piece.
Anyhow, last week was my final papers, which means I now finally have the time to get back to painting. It's going to take some time for me to get use to it again though...
Starting commissions soon. Check the front page for updates
(Wow Aeron, is that all you have to say to your awesome watchers after being gone for this long? Bad Aeron...)

Colour references:
Sorrow for Whales by Rhads: [link]
Endless Journey by Rhads: [link]
Clouds - Practice by Nurkhular: [link]
Nothing says harmony like warm and cool colours combined. I think I might stick to this colour references for sometimes, maybe as a study, if you will.

I used this absolutely beautiful picture in my cover of I Am Just A Pony: bit.ly/1L61vWe
I noted you for permission a couple of months ago, in case you don't remember. And of course, I credited you in the description.

Just letting you know, I used this image for a song I released today. I credited you in the description. www.youtube.com/watch?v=FByP9U…
What a beautiful piece! You made it seem almost surreal with the placement if clouds! I love it!
Kind of reminds me of the sort of style that was used in Rayman 3 the great escape for some reason.
Awesome work like all the others btw

Hello there! I was wondering if you might let me use this image in a YouTube video series. All credit would go to you, of course.
Now it's my turn to apologize for the late reply. Thank you! I'll add it to our gallery so we can credit your properly.
Heavenly brush strokes my friend!

Half of the recommended pictures on my screen are all of yours. I think deviantART is trying to tell me something...

Per the mechanics of the piece itself I can't find anything wrong to my eye. Visually we're cleanly focused on Derpy and the use of warm colors against the blue and dark background really helps to focus viewer attention to our favorite blonde-maned, yellow eyed Pegasus.
And even with the subject matter set off to the side balance is kept. There is enough going on off to the side and the rest of the piece as a whole that it doesn't leave me feeling it is oddly skewed, or wanting more in that regard.
I also like how you did the clouds. And might I ask: actually painted in or were stocks used?
Per the originality though I'm tempted to say that I've seen a number of pieces like this before. Though provided being fan art I can excuse it; all if not many who will be viewing this would be doing MLP art themselves. And given a pony in a magical, fantasy plane-scape is in-of itself a popular subject.
